In the fall of 2022, I traveled to the end of the world—more precisely, Ushuaia, the southernmost city on Earth. Inspired by its unmatched scenery, I've crafted a whole collection of postcards from 35mm photographs.
Coming soon to the post office at the world's end.

Last fall, I bought a roll of Fujichrome Provia 100D at the flea market and took it on a trip to Villa La Angostura. It was a slide film expired in 1997 and poorly preserved. On the way back, the lab texted me: sorry, nothing came out.
There wasn't much visible on the film. However, there were hints of shapes and shadows, entirely colorless. Taking it to another lab, I received scans that were washed out of life. Here are some of the original scans:
That's when the idea struck me—to bring those photos to life using AI.
After a long process of editing, coloring, and resizing, the roll was revived. It didn't capture the tones the slide film would have had before '97, nor the endless colors of Patagonia. Instead, it revealed its own magic.
Recalling the memory of a trip using AI seemed like a good way to use AI.

After testing different coloring options on Palette.fm, and using Bigjpg for AI upscaling, I got the final 30 images.
